Tihar Jail Visit

The Innovative Institute of Law, under the Innovative Group of Colleges, organized a Tihar Jail Visit on 21-22 September, offering students rare and meaningful exposure to the functioning of one of India's largest correctional institutions. During the visit, students learned about prison administration, inmate rehabilitation programs, vocational training initiatives, and legal aid support provided within the jail. They observed how correctional officers, counsellors, and welfare staff work together to maintain security while promoting reformation. The visit highlighted the importance of human rights, ethical treatment, and rehabilitation in the criminal justice system. Faculty members guided students in understanding procedural aspects related to incarceration and prisoner rights. The experience enhanced students practical understanding of penology, criminology, and correctional processes. Overall, the visit was insightful, educational, and aligned with the Institute's commitment to holistic and experiential legal learning.
